New Product Release｜SGWRD Launches First GMSL3 Camera Module

SGWRD has recently released the first GMSL3 series camera module, SG8S-AR0820C-5300-GMSL3, which can be widely used in the fields of in-vehicle vision, advanced assisted driving and robotics.

GMSL2 (6 Gbit/s) is a recognised and reliable interface for automotive applications, and the new GMSL3 standard (12 Gbit/s) is ADI's third-generation Gigabit multimedia serial link. With this interface, image sensors can operate under the full MIPI CSI-2/D-PHY v1.2 specification (4 channels at 2.5 Gbps each), enabling vision systems to stream uncompressed, smooth video at up to 15 MP @ 36 fps or 4K @ 60 fps and over a single piece of coaxial cable (PoC), resulting in smooth, clear sensor fusion, real-time images or stereoscopic 3D imaging.

SG8S-AR0820C-5300-GMSL3 camera module from SGWRD is powered by the latest GMSL3 serialiser MAX96793 using ONSEMI 8.3MP AR0820 RGGB image sensor equipped with 1/2-inch sensor and 2.1um pixel size with GEO GW5300 for ISP.

The camera module supports 3840x2160 resolution, 8 megapixels high, and outputs YUV422 format, which makes the whole camera's imaging clarity higher as well, which means it can see more details when identifying a target object, and can address the camera's need to acquire finer, high-quality images.

As a partner of NVIDIA Elite Jetson, SGWRD relies on the software-driven technology on NVIDIA Jetson and always ensures the deep integration of SENSING cameras with the Jetson platform. The SG8S-AR0820C-5300-GMSL3 camera module can be applied to NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX&Nano development kit.

With the Jetson Orin NX&Nano Development Kit GMSL3 adapter board developed by SGWRD, 2 SG8S-AR0820C-5300-GMSL3 cameras can be connected to NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX&Nano modules at the same time and are fully compatible with the development kit.
